We’ve heard stories of fellow Tolkien nerds who use replicas of The One Ring as their wedding bands. Now, you can have the original jewelers who made The One Ring for Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit hand-forge you the most authentic Lord of the Rings inspired wedding bands on the planet — The Jens Hansen Elvish Love Rings!

Instead of the original inscription written by Tolkien, the message on the Jens Hansen Elvish Love Rings leans more toward the romantic and less toward world domination.

These rings can also be engraved with a personal message inside the band for an additional fee. Their laser engraver can handle any message, pattern, pictures, or symbols desired, so long as there is room on the band and you are using standard fonts or can provide a two-tone image file. For legal reasons, they cannot engrave the same elvish script that features on their licensed The One Ring designs. Other messages in elvish, dwarvish, or any other language are okay, of course!

The rings come in Yellow Gold, White Gold, Red Gold, Palladium, Platinum, and two-toned Yellow Gold and Platinum. And if you’re interested in a more elaborate design, there’s the Palladium and White CZ Engraved Ring.

So what do you say, Tolkien fans? Is this worthy of becoming a quintessential wedding (or vow-renewal) tradition?

image Author: Lily Milos Lily’s first experience with Tolkien was when the eccentric Mrs. H performed all of the characters from The Hobbit in her seventh grade class. In high school, she felt obliged to decline a second date with a boy who said he had no interest in reading The Lord of the Rings. In college, she unwisely decided to reread her beloved copy of The Hobbit during finals week, with only semi-disastrous results. When not writing for Middle-earth News, Lily tries not to unnerve her coworkers and family with her extreme geekery, but somehow, Star Wars, Star Trek, Sherlock, Merlin, Doctor Who, The Princess Bride, Back to the Future, superheroes, Disney movies, and of course, Tolkien, seem to have relevance in EVERY conversation.
