J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fall of Arthur released by The Easton Press (08.12.13 by Pieter Collier) - Comments

Easton Press is a publishing company that sells luxury editions of famous books. Wrapped in genuine leather and 22kt gold, their books are collector's editions. They have just released J.R.R. Tolkien's latest book The Fall of Arthur. Once again this collector edition looks stunning! If you are into this kind of precious books go over to The Easton Press website and buy yourself a copy!

The Fall of Arthur, begun by J.R.R. Tolkien just a few years before The Hobbit, was inspired by tales of the iconic British hero contained within the work of Geoffrey of Monmouth, Thomas Malory and other English poets, but depicts drama and adventure in language only Tolkien could have written. It comprises a work of narrative verse telling of the last days of the King, and has been edited by Christopher Tolkien, who also provides detailed commentary and notes.

Tolkien books released by Easton Press

This is of course not the first time The Easton Press releases a Tolkien book, they have released several other Tolkien books. They all have the same things in common: standard Easton Press quality, bound in premium full leathers, distinctive cover design, beautiful illustrations, handsome and readable typefaces, permanent satin ribbon page marker and elegant gilded page edges, endsheets of rich moire fabric thread-sewn pages for durability and strength, long-lasting high quality and acid-neutral paper.

So far, that I am aware of, the following books have been released (all in the same green quality leather), sadly not all on the same size (but don't hear me complaining either, the quality is of the best you can find):

1. The Fellowship of the Ring: being the first part of The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien2. The Two Towers: being the second part of The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien3. The Return of the King: being the third part of The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien4. The Silmarillion, edited by Christopher Tolkien 5. The Hobbit: or There and Back Again, by J.R.R. Tolkien and illustrated by the author 6. The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun, edited by Christopher Tolkien 7. The Children of Hurin, edited by Christopher Tolkien and illustrated by Alan Lee 8. Tales of the Perilous Realm, by J.R.R. Tolkien and illustrated by Alan Lee 9. The Atlas of Middle-earth, by Karen Wynn Fonstad 10. The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring - Visual Companion, by Jude Fisher 11. The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers - Visual Companion, by Jude Fisher 12. The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King - Visual Companion, by Jude Fisher13. Lost Tales of Middle-earth, a collection of: The Book of Lost Tales Part One, The Book of Lost Tales Part Two and Unfinished Tales, by J.R.R. Tolkien14. The Father Christmas Letters, edited by Baillie Tolkien and illustrated by J.R.R. Tolkien15. The Complete Guide to Middle-earth, by Robert Foster

To be honest, I should one day try and get more info on the publication dates and printing history of these editions. But today we can see that another book has been added to the impressive collection of collector editions by The Easton Press.
