"The noble quest is at hand…" Warner Bros / New Line Cinema has debuted the full trailer for The Hobbit Trilogy: Extended Edition, an event being hosted by Fathom Events. Taking place in cinemas around the country this October is a series of screenings (on October 5th, October 7th, October 13th) of the complete Extended Edition trilogy from Peter Jackson. One movie will be shown each date, ending with the debut of the Extended Edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies. The final movie is actually rated R for "some violence", if that adds any extra interest. The footage is pretty much most of what we've seen, but it's cool to see them make a trailer for the theatrical events. Back to Middle Earth one more time.[3]
Here's the official trailer for Fathom's The Hobbit Trilogy: Extended Edition events, via YouTube[4]:
Warner Bros / New Line and Peter Jackson have already been progressively releasing the Extended Editions of the first two The Hobbit movies almost a year after the original release of each of those. Both of those are already available on Bu-ray[5], but The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is last. The theatrical cut ran 144 minutes, and the video claims there's "over 20 minutes" of new footage - plus it's rated R. AMC has a listing for an event[6] on October 13th, which is when The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies - Extended Edition premieres in cinemas. The other screenings take place earlier in October. If you're really into The Hobbit and Middle-Earth and really want to see this much, then have at it. For tickets - visit Fathom Events here[7].
